there I have been (I cannot say where)

Installation (work-in-progress)

(Excerpts from letters to the Berlin Centre for Advanced Studies in Arts and Sciences)

Back in Berlin in late July.. I returned to a deep unsettling. (the) mass, sea-bound migration of Myanmar’s Rohingya peoples to shores along the Indian Ocean.. (and) the strike of a series of cyclones on islands in the Caribbean sea.

I’m afraid that I concede to the frailty of my imagination; its incapacity to persist imagining amidst such turbulence. Yet I recognise that perhaps it is precisely imagination that has the potency to resurrect dampened and drowning spirits. Amidst these thoughts I temporarily suspend my conscious engagement with Study #1: Unpacking Archipelic Thought.
