SUCH UNTIMELY DANCING
Kinetic-Sculpture / Essay-Collage

A collage of clocks presents the paradox of the breaking and making of bodies. A textual triptych (re)tells stories of once dismembered bodies, and their periodic re-membering across pre-modern, pre-industrial and post-colonial times. 3 stories converge upon (or diverge from) 1 kinetic sculpture: a mechanized assemblage of a human-like body in a (counter)clockwork dance of continuous un/making. Together, the stories and sculpture speak of ethical, mythical and technological cycles in the continuous de(con)struction and (re)creation of bodies. The work is an homage to the Italian designer & inventor Bruno Munari (1907-1998).
